Después de hablar con los israelitas, Moisés y Aarón fueron a ver al rey de Egipto y le dijeron: —El Dios de los israelitas, envía este mensaje a Su Majestad: “Deja que mi pueblo Israel vaya al desierto, para que haga allí una fiesta en mi honor”.

Pero exíjanles que hagan la misma cantidad de ladrillos; ¡ni uno menos! Estos israelitas son unos haraganes; por eso andan gritando que los dejemos ir al desierto para adorar a su Dios. Ustedes háganlos trabajar más todavía. Manténgalos tan ocupados que no tengan tiempo de creer en las mentiras de Moisés y de Aarón».
