Le temps passa. Lorsque Moïse fut devenu adulte, il alla rendre visite à ses frères de race et fut témoin des corvées qu’on leur imposait. Il vit un Egyptien qui rouait de coups l’un de ses frères hébreux. Après avoir regardé de côté et d’autre pour voir s’il n’y avait personne, il frappa l’Egyptien à mort et l’enfouit dans le sable.
