With so much focus on material gifts and the anticipation of a certain jolly visitor, parents may easily feel their children are missing the true meaning of Christmas. As we approach Christmas every year our anticipation of his arrival resembles that of the first Christians. We long for him. As we wait, we prepare and plan, regardless of our circumstances.

Prayers and reflections for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity in 2025 are prepared by the brothers and sisters of the monastic community of Bose in northern Italy. This year marks the 1,700th anniversary of the first Christian Ecumenical Council, held in Nicaea, near Constantinople in 325 AD.
