Exodus 23:10-11

God gave the Israelites instructions on how to serve Him and how to treat fellow people. These “ten commandments” were like a constitution designed by God Himself, meant for his glory and the well-being of the people. As long as humanity exists, work has been part of daily life. Work can be a blessing, but it can also be exhausting and hard. Therefore, people also need rest. And rest is more than just ‘a break from work’; it is also about inner peace. Ultimately, this rest can only be found in God. Let’s see what the Bible says about work and rest.

The book of Exodus chronicles the Israelites' rescue from Egypt, deliverance from slavery, and establishment of the tabernacle in the wilderness. In Exodus, we see the premier covenantal promise of God is the reality of his presence among His people, leading, guiding, and directing them towards holiness in Him.
