chapter eight
1and when he is come down from mountain, have him followed great crowds of people, 2and look, a leper is come and is fell down before him, and has said: L-rd, if you (SG) want, you can me clean make. 3and he has stretched out the hand, and has him touched, in this way to say: I do want; be cleansed! and immediately is he clean become of his leprosy. 4and Yehoshua says to him: beware you, that you (SG) shall it nobody tell; but go, show you to the kohen, and be offer the sacrifice, that Moses has command, for an witness to they!
5and as he is come in to K'far-Nachum, is come to him a (Roman) officer, and has him begged, 6and said: L-rd, my servant lies paralyzed in house, and has terrible sufferings. 7and he says to him: I will come and him heal. 8the (Roman) officer however has answering said: L-rd, I am not worthy, that you (SG) shall come in under my roof, but tell only a word, and my servant will healed to be. 9because also I am a man, who stands under the authority, having under me soldiers, and I say to that: go! and he goes; and to an other: come here! and he comes; and to my slaves: do this! and he does it. 10and as Yehoshua has this heard, has he self amazed, and has said to the (ones), who have followed: in truth tell I you (PL), among no one in Israel have I such faith not found. 11and I tell you (PL): a many will come from east and from west, and will themselves sit down with Abraham, and with Isaac, and with Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven. 12the children however of the kingdom will thrown out to be in the darkness outside; there will be the weeping and the gnashing with the teeth. 13and Yehoshua has said to the (Roman) officer: go, will (to) you happened that way, as you (SG) have believed! and the servant was healed become in that hour.
14and when Yehoshua has come to Peter in house into, has he seen his mother-in-law lying sick on a fever. 15and he has touched her hand, and the fever has her left; and she is stand up again, and has him served. 16and when it is become evening, have they brought to him a many demoniacs with evil spirits, and he has cast out the spirits with a word, and all sick cured; 17so that it shall fulfilled to be, what it is said become through Isaiah the prophet, so to say: he himself has taken away our diseases, and carried the burden of our pains. (Yeshayah 53, 4)
18and as Yehoshua has seen a crowd people around Himself, has he commanded depart to the other side of sea. 19and a scribe is come, and has to him said: Rebbe, I will you (SG) follow, where you (SG) will just go. 20and Yehoshua said to him: the foxes have holes, and the birds of heaven—nests; the Son of Man however has not, where the head to lay down. 21and an other of the disciples has to him said: L-rd, give me permission before all to go away and bury to do my father. 22Yehoshua however said to him: follow you (SG) me after; and let the dead bury do their dead (ones).
23and he is got into in the boat, and his disciples have him followed. 24and look, it is become a greater windstorm on the sea, that the boat is almost covered become of the waves; he however is sleep. 25and they are come to him, and have him roused, in this way to say: L-rd, save; we come die! 26and he says to them: why are you (PL) so frightened, you (PL) small believers? then is he stand up again, and has rebuked the winds and the sea; and it is become a great quietness. 27and the people have themselves amazed, and have said: what is this for a man, that both the winds and the sea obey him?
28and when he is come on the other side sea in the land of the Gadarenes, are him met two demoniacs, who are come out of the tombs, very dangerous ones, that no one has not be able pass by through that way. 29and look, they have a shout done, so to say: what have we with you (SG), you (SG) Son of the Most High? did you come here us to torment before the time? 30and from a distance from them were themselves feeding a great herd of swine. 31and the evil spirits have him begged, so to say: if you (SG) are casting us out, send us into in the herd of swine! 32and he has to them said: go! and they are gone out, and are went away in the swine into; and look, the whole herd has themselves a tear down done of the steep slope in sea into, and are perish in the waters. 33the swineherds however are fled, and are enter in city, and have everything reported, and what (it had happened) with the demoniacs. 34and look, the whole city is went out meet Yehoshua; and seeing him, have they him begged, that he shall going away from their domain.
