Lots of people are simply making it. They are not thriving at life–they are just surviving life. Do you find yourself in that group–the group that is just surviving? There is a way to thrive no matter what your circumstances may be. The Bible calls it an “overcoming spirit.”

You are always in the process of becoming. Who you are becoming may be more or less who you really want to be. As a follower of Jesus Christ, you are meant to become more like Him. One day, one decision, and one action at a time. The Becoming reading plans will look at four facets of discipleship, moving you closer to a life that looks like Jesus.

God, through His Word, gives a pretty clear picture of what it means to love unconditionally. This type of love isn’t just meant to be a four-letter word—it’s a way of being. It’s something that should pour out of us so naturally that it is present within every action—and in the ways we are called to fill in the gaps and be there for those around us. This truth was the heart of the civil rights movement, and this truth defined Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s vision for all to be recipients of justice and compassion.

Sometimes life is dark and difficult, leading us to despair. You may wonder, " Why am I here? What’s the point? Why do bad things happen?" When life seems empty and futile, you need to know God understands and has a purpose for you. In this study, you will learn how pain can drive you to make significant changes that can lead to a life full of meaning and hope.
