He told her, “You’re talking like an empty-headed fool. We take the good days from God—why not also the bad days?” Not once through all this did Job sin. He said nothing against God. Three of Job’s friends heard of all the trouble that had fallen on him. Each traveled from his own country—Eliphaz from Teman, Bildad from Shuhah, Zophar from Naamath—and went together to Job to keep him company and comfort him. When they first caught sight of him, they couldn’t believe what they saw—they hardly recognized him! They cried out in lament, ripped their robes, and dumped dirt on their heads as a sign of their grief. Then they sat with him on the ground. Seven days and nights they sat there without saying a word. They could see how rotten he felt, how deeply he was suffering.

One of your most powerful weapons against the enemy is your testimony. Your testimony is not only a direct attack against the devil, but also an encouragement to others who are fighting battles of their own. When we tell the story of the battles we have faced, we strike the enemy with a reminder of how present and powerful God was, and we tell others victory is possible through Jesus.
Life happens! However, at times -after it happens- it leaves us bewildered, with blurred vision. Life has a way of readjusting our focus. And oftentimes, that readjustment and realignment occurs through unfortunate events. It is my prayer that we do not lose our identity and purpose when life hits hard. I hope that through your ups and downs, God would provide “Clarity In Unfortunate Events”.
5 Days
This video series is based on the story of Job from the Bible. Like Job, when life is hard and troubles hit us, we can know that God is with us to give us strength and to deliver us.
This 5-day reading plan will remind readers of God’s enduring love and kindness, encouraging them to count their blessings and live each day to the full. Each of the five days features a devotion on a particular topic (such as focusing on the positive and making gratitude a way of life) and ends with a prayer and a Scripture verse. The content for this reading plan is based on Nina Smit’s “God Is on Your Side”.
