Deuteronomy 8:5
Deuteronomy 8:5 King James Version (KJV)
Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so the LORD thy God chasteneth thee.
Deuteronomy 8:5 New International Version (NIV)
Know then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so the LORD your God disciplines you.
Deuteronomy 8:1-5 The Message (MSG)
Keep and live out the entire commandment that I’m commanding you today so that you’ll live and prosper and enter and own the land that GOD promised to your ancestors. Remember every road that GOD led you on for those forty years in the wilderness, pushing you to your limits, testing you so that he would know what you were made of, whether you would keep his commandments or not. He put you through hard times. He made you go hungry. Then he fed you with manna, something neither you nor your parents knew anything about, so you would learn that men and women don’t live by bread only; we live by every word that comes from GOD’s mouth. Your clothes didn’t wear out and your feet didn’t blister those forty years. You learned deep in your heart that GOD disciplines you in the same ways a father disciplines his child.
Deuteronomy 8:5 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
Thus you are to know in your heart that the LORD your God was disciplining you just as a man disciplines his son.
Deuteronomy 8:5 New Century Version (NCV)
Know in your heart that the LORD your God corrects you as a parent corrects a child.
Deuteronomy 8:5 American Standard Version (ASV)
And thou shalt consider in thy heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so Jehovah thy God chasteneth thee.
Deuteronomy 8:5 New King James Version (NKJV)
You should know in your heart that as a man chastens his son, so the LORD your God chastens you.
Deuteronomy 8:5 Amplified Bible (AMP)
Therefore, know in your heart (be fully cognizant) that the LORD your God disciplines and instructs you just as a man disciplines and instructs his son.
