Ecclesiastes 7:9-10
Ecclesiastes 7:9-10 The Message (MSG)
Don’t be quick to fly off the handle. Anger boomerangs. You can spot a fool by the lumps on his head. Don’t always be asking, “Where are the good old days?” Wise folks don’t ask questions like that.
Ecclesiastes 7:9-10 King James Version (KJV)
Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools. Say not thou, What is the cause that the former days were better than these? for thou dost not enquire wisely concerning this.
Ecclesiastes 7:9-10 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
Do not be eager in your heart to be angry, For anger resides in the bosom of fools. Do not say, “Why is it that the former days were better than these?” For it is not from wisdom that you ask about this.
Ecclesiastes 7:9-10 New Century Version (NCV)
Don’t become angry quickly, because getting angry is foolish. Don’t ask, “Why was life better in the ‘good old days’?” It is not wise to ask such questions.
Ecclesiastes 7:9-10 American Standard Version (ASV)
Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry; for anger resteth in the bosom of fools. Say not thou, What is the cause that the former days were better than these? for thou dost not inquire wisely concerning this.
