Philippians 3:7
Philippians 3:7 English Standard Version Revision 2016 (ESV)
But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ.
Philippians 3:7-9 The Message (MSG)
The very credentials these people are waving around as something special, I’m tearing up and throwing out with the trash—along with everything else I used to take credit for. And why? Because of Christ. Yes, all the things I once thought were so important are gone from my life. Compared to the high privilege of knowing Christ Jesus as my Master, firsthand, everything I once thought I had going for me is insignificant—dog dung. I’ve dumped it all in the trash so that I could embrace Christ and be embraced by him. I didn’t want some petty, inferior brand of righteousness that comes from keeping a list of rules when I could get the robust kind that comes from trusting Christ—God’s righteousness.
Philippians 3:7 King James Version (KJV)
But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.
Philippians 3:7 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
But whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ.
Philippians 3:7 New Century Version (NCV)
Those things were important to me, but now I think they are worth nothing because of Christ.
Philippians 3:7 American Standard Version (ASV)
Howbeit what things were gain to me, these have I counted loss for Christ.
Philippians 3:7 New International Version (NIV)
But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ.
Philippians 3:7 New King James Version (NKJV)
But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ.
Philippians 3:7 Amplified Bible (AMP)
But whatever former things were gains to me [as I thought then], these things [once regarded as advancements in merit] I have come to consider as loss [absolutely worthless] for the sake of Christ [and the purpose which He has given my life].
