Proverbs 3:33-35
Proverbs 3:33-35 The Message (MSG)
GOD’s curse blights the house of the wicked, but he blesses the home of the righteous. He gives proud skeptics a cold shoulder, but if you’re down on your luck, he’s right there to help. Wise living gets rewarded with honor; stupid living gets the booby prize.
Proverbs 3:33-35 King James Version (KJV)
The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked: But he blesseth the habitation of the just. Surely he scorneth the scorners: But he giveth grace unto the lowly. The wise shall inherit glory: But shame shall be the promotion of fools.
Proverbs 3:33-35 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
The curse of the LORD is on the house of the wicked, But He blesses the dwelling of the righteous. Though He scoffs at the scoffers, Yet He gives grace to the afflicted. The wise will inherit honor, But fools display dishonor.
Proverbs 3:33-35 New Century Version (NCV)
The LORD will curse the evil person’s house, but he will bless the home of those who do right. The LORD laughs at those who laugh at him, but he gives grace to those who are not proud. Wise people will receive honor, but fools will be disgraced.
Proverbs 3:33-35 American Standard Version (ASV)
The curse of Jehovah is in the house of the wicked; But he blesseth the habitation of the righteous. Surely he scoffeth at the scoffers; But he giveth grace unto the lowly. The wise shall inherit glory; But shame shall be the promotion of fools.
Proverbs 3:33-35 New International Version (NIV)
The LORD’s curse is on the house of the wicked, but he blesses the home of the righteous. He mocks proud mockers but shows favor to the humble and oppressed. The wise inherit honor, but fools get only shame.
Proverbs 3:33-35 New King James Version (NKJV)
The curse of the LORD is on the house of the wicked, But He blesses the home of the just. Surely He scorns the scornful, But gives grace to the humble. The wise shall inherit glory, But shame shall be the legacy of fools.
Proverbs 3:33-35 Amplified Bible (AMP)
The curse of the LORD is on the house of the wicked, But He blesses the home of the just and righteous. [Ps 37:22; Zech 5:4; Mal 2:2] Though He scoffs at the scoffers and scorns the scorners, Yet He gives His grace [His undeserved favor] to the humble [those who give up self-importance]. [James 4:6; 1 Pet 5:5] The wise will inherit honor and glory, But dishonor and shame is conferred on fools. [Is 32:6]
Proverbs 3:33-35 New Living Translation (NLT)
The LORD curses the house of the wicked, but he blesses the home of the upright. The LORD mocks the mockers but is gracious to the humble. The wise inherit honor, but fools are put to shame!
Proverbs 3:33-35 The Passion Translation (TPT)
The wicked walk under God’s constant curse, but the righteous walk under a stream of his blessing, for they seek to do what is right. If you walk with the mockers you will learn to mock, but God’s grace and favor flow to the meek. Stubborn fools fill their lives with disgrace, but glory and honor rest upon the wise.
