Psalms 123:2
Psalms 123:2 English Standard Version Revision 2016 (ESV)
Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maidservant to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the LORD our God, till he has mercy upon us.
Psalms 123:1-4 The Message (MSG)
I look to you, heaven-dwelling God, look up to you for help. Like servants, alert to their master’s commands, like a maiden attending her lady, We’re watching and waiting, holding our breath, awaiting your word of mercy. Mercy, GOD, mercy! We’ve been kicked around long enough, Kicked in the teeth by complacent rich men, kicked when we’re down by arrogant brutes.
Psalms 123:2 King James Version (KJV)
Behold, as the eyes of servants Look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; So our eyes wait upon the LORD our God, Until that he have mercy upon us.
Psalms 123:2 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, As the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, So our eyes look to the LORD our God, Until He is gracious to us.
Psalms 123:2 New Century Version (NCV)
Slaves depend on their masters, and a female servant depends on her mistress. In the same way, we depend on the LORD our God; we wait for him to show us mercy.
