Have you ever been struck with fear, anxiety, or the need to control everything? Call on the name of the Lord. His power is not just around us but WITHIN US. How can we even grasp that?! Read along with Elle Limebear as God's goodness in unraveled through all our feelings and in all situations.

Most likely written by the prophet Jeremiah, Lamentations is a collection of poems mourning the siege of Jerusalem and the coming exile of Judah. Despite the wickedness of God’s people that led to their captivity, the writer reminds his readers the loyal love and mercy of the Lord are truly new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). Even in deep darkness, God is our portion, our hope, and our salvation.

Lamentations in the Old Testament chronicles the prophet Jeremiah’s mourning as his hometown, Jerusalem, lies in ruins due to his people’s sin. The “daughter of Zion” once prized by God is destroyed. In this six-day devotional, Chantelle Hobbs—a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary—pairs Jeremiah’s emotional prose with lyrical laments expressed in the Spirituals of her forerunners in the faith. Included are original recordings of the songs.

However, you need not believe blindly. When God opens your spiritual eyes, there is a lot to see! This reading plan covers several Bible verses about blindness, restored sight, (not) seeing, and believing.

What has fear stolen from you or your loved one? Fear is a dream killer, and if left unchecked, it will keep you from walking in your destiny. The Good News is … God, in His word, reveals everything we need to know to totally eradicate fear from our lives. God’s word is like medicine to the soul: apply it liberally, daily until you walk in complete freedom of fear. 

In this Advent Infinitum Series, we will be using the themes of Tragedy, Comedy and Fairytale. They will act as doorways into a deeper understanding of surrender, generosity, and mission. Each theme lasts 7 days. The first day will be an introduction. Days 2 to 6 will give you a reading, an experience, a practice, a question, and a prayer. Day 7 is Sabbath, consolidation, review, and recollection.

The 25 days leading up to the celebration of Jesus’ birth are pretty remarkable. We get to look back at how God prepared the way for Jesus and delivered on His promise of a Savior.
