A.D. The Bible Continues is the epic 12-episode series now airing on NBC. Philip shares the Gospel with a eunuch from Ethiopia, then baptizes him. Saul’s preaching in Damascus enrages the Jews, who plot to kill him.
Paul wasn’t one of the original twelve apostles. Nonetheless, he took Jesus’ Great Commission to heart and spent his entire life making disciples, or students, of everyone he met. He shared the Gospel with them, then taught them how to illustrate that Gospel so it would never be called into question, others would accept it, and God would be glorified. Now it’s our turn!
We all make mistakes, and sometimes they can tarnish our reputation. Consider the Apostle Paul. He persecuted Christians before God called him to preach the gospel. His reputation was so soiled, the apostles wanted nothing to do with him. This Bible reading plan shows us the steps Paul took to rebuild his reputation, steps that we can follow, too, when faced with our own mistakes.
The beginning of the year is a time for hopefulness and fresh starts, but it can also bring anxiety, fear, and frustration with the unknown days ahead. With this devotional, we want to look at the upcoming months through a different lens — one not tinted with weariness or apprehension, but with excitement and expectation for how God will show up in our lives and work through us!
