DAY THREE: Forgiveness and Fasting
Many individuals rehash, relive, and meditate on painful experiences of their past. They relive the hurt over and over, and they never heal. These individuals are harboring an offense—a circumstance that is perceived as unjust or hurtful.
When you harbor an offense, you usually deal with the problem by thinking and talking about it too much. The sad thing is that holding unforgiveness in your heart literally locks toxins inside your body.
When you fail to forgive, you stimulate the stress response in your body. This causes chronic stimulation of the sympathetic nervous system and elevation of stress hormones, which in turn causes constriction of blood vessels and locks toxins in the body.
Focus Thought
Forgiveness enables the body to release toxins. Choose to extend forgiveness today—this includes forgiving yourself.
