Lent Youth Guide | Jesus' Real Talk During His Hardest & Darkest Moments

Think:

The struggle to stay financially stable hits a lot of us, and it can sometimes push us to make choices we regret later. Judas, for example, may have convinced himself that what he did was for a bigger purpose or to get to a goal he believed in. Even though his actions were wrong, it's important to recognize the mix of emotions, fears, and desires that probably led him to betray Jesus.

We might think we'd never turn our back on Jesus as Judas did, but in reality, we all face moments where we forget or ignore God's call. We’re not out here trying to sabotage His plan, but sometimes we find ourselves quietly stepping back or being secret followers when life gets hard. Today, there’s an opportunity to pause and apologize for those little moments when we’ve turned away from God.

Live:

Repentance is key—it’s not just a one-time thing but a daily choice to turn back to God. What’s blocking you from returning to God fully? Are there parts of your life that are harder to surrender to Him? Take a moment to think about those areas and bring them to God. Repentance means we’re choosing to rethink our lives, turn away from trying to be in control, and let God lead. It’s a process we get to live out daily—confessing, surrendering, and making that shift toward Him again and again.

Pray:
Jesus, give me the grace to see where I’ve fallen short and help me turn back to You. Amen.
