From Creation to Callingنموونە

When we give our lives to Jesus, we join in God’s big, ongoing mission to redeem the world. It’s a thought that should fill us with a sense of awe and wonder—the God of the universe invites us to participate in His work— but it also might fill us with doubt and uncertainty. We might ask, “Why would God want to use me?” or “What if I don’t feel like I’m worthy of this?” The truth is, none of us is worthy on our own. But God doesn’t use us because we’re qualified or because we deserve it. God isn’t waiting for you to earn your place in His story. He offers forgiveness for your confessed sins, and He gives strength for the places where you fall short. He invites you to join His mission, not based on who you are, but because of who He is. He is loving, merciful, and wants to use you in amazing ways for the Gospel to be spread to all people. All you need to do is be available and willing! God is calling you right now to share who He is with the world around you. Even if you feel weak and your world feels small, God can use you, with all of your specific gifts, talents, and passions, to make a difference.

1. Where does Paul’s strength come from? How is this different from where the world tells us to find our strength and confidence?

2. According to this passage, how should we view our weaknesses and shortcomings?

3. Have you experienced the kind of forgiveness Paul describes here? If not, take some time to confess your sins to God and receive His mercy, love, and forgiveness.
