The Pursuit - 12 Weeks

ڕۆژی4 لە 84

Religious people in Jesus’ day thought holiness meant avoiding the “bad” crowd. But Jesus shocked them by eating with tax collectors and sinners. When the Pharisees complained, Jesus replied, “It’s not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

This is good news for us. If you think you’re too messed up for God, think again. Jesus didn’t come for people who have it all together—He came for people who know they don’t. That means you’re exactly the kind of person He’s looking for.

But notice the flip side: if you think you don’t need God, you’ll miss Him. Self-righteousness is the real barrier. True relationship with Jesus starts when we admit our need.

Reflection:

Do you identify more with the Pharisees or with the sinners in this story? Why?
