The Last Supper

Jesus enters Jerusalem riding on a donkey on the first-ever Palm Sunday. The crowd waves palms, worships God, and sings. When a religious leader complains, Jesus responds that if his disciples keep quiet, the stones will cry out.

Jesus' Triumphal Entry - Palm Sunday

At the Feast of Unleavened Bread, Jesus eats the Passover meal with his 12 disciples. Using the dinner bread and wine, he teaches about giving his body and blood as a sacrifice. He announces one will betray him and they argue about who it could be.

The place to execute and humiliate criminals is called the Scull. Roman soldiers nail two convicted criminals and Jesus to crosses. The soldiers make fun of Jesus and one of the criminals insults him

Jesus is Crucified

During Jesus' last hours, the sun stops shining, and lightning and earthquakes occur. Jesus cries out that he is in the hands of God the Father. The curtain in the temple is torn down the middle. A Roman commander sees what happens when Jesus dies.

Women go to Jesus' tomb and find the stone rolled away from the entrance. Two men in bright, shining clothes suddenly appear. The women bow in fear and the angels ask why they are looking for Jesus among the dead.

Mary (called Magdalena), Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and other women followers of Jesus run away. They tell the disciples, but they do not believe the women about the angels and the empty tomb.

While walking to Emmaus, Jesus talks to two disciples who don't recognize him until later. They return to Jerusalem and tell the other disciples. Suddenly the resurrected Jesus appears in the room. Jesus is flesh and blood--and a real person.

For the last time, Jesus teaches his disciples what they must do, called the Great Commission. He commands them to go to all nations and teach all people to be his disciples. He promises he will always be with them. They watch Jesus ascend to heaven.

The resurrected Jesus reveals Himself to His disciples inside a locked room where they had been hiding. Several days later, Jesus appears again, showing His scars to Thomas. "Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."
