The impetus for the exodus was “harsh labor” and slavish jobs (see Exodus 1:14; 3:7-8). Not surprisingly, the Book of Exodus has a lot to teach us about our own work today. In this seven-day plan, we’ll travel with Moses from Egypt, through the Red Sea, and to the foot of Mount Sinai to extract wisdom for our work from the exodus!

Whether it’s social media, the news, or our own households, it’s like no one wants to live in peace. Getting their own words heard—often forcibly—seems to be more important today than just about anything else. It’s exhausting, all this posturing and shouting. What if we start creating spaces of peace? Think what might happen if all these little pockets of peace started popping up all over our communities.

One day, I sat in an empty space and cried my eyes out as I whispered "He sees me through my sobs and tears," then He calmed me and reminded me of His promises. I suddenly felt the need to write out a 10-Day devotional on this beautiful name of God "EL ROI", knowing that there are other people out there like me who need to be reminded of God's ability to see. As you go through this plan, I pray that the God who sees will open your eyes to see Him at work in your life. Amen
