“It’s better this way”… “You’ll be better off”… We’ve all heard these words of encouragement from people who love us, but we don’t always believe them to be true. Although the authorship of Hebrews is unclear, the message of the book could not be clearer: Jesus Christ is superior to all. Jesus’ name is greater than the angels, He is more faithful than Moses, and only His blood has the power to take away sin. Hebrews reminds us to look to Jesus and faithfully run the race He has called us to.

Hebrews is one of the most challenging books in the New Testament. In this book we discover that the original audience was facing persecution and that they were tempted to turn away from Christ. That’s why the author of Hebrews placed their emphasis on standing strong in the faith. In this reading plan, we’ll see how crucial it is that we stand strong in our faith, no matter what opposition we may face.
