When someone new arrives, everything changes. That was never truer than Christmas day, about 2000 years ago. When The Word became flesh and blood and moved into the neighborhood (John 1:14 MSG), everything changed for everyone. This Christmas, we’re going to take a few weeks to talk about what exactly this means for us.

In the apostle Peter's first letter to Christians, he discusses the right attitude toward other people, the position of husband and wife within marriage, and dealing with suffering. This reading plan covers chapters 2 and 3 of Peter’s letter.

In this devotional written from the perspective of Jesus' mother, Mary vulnerably and honestly details the intimate moments of her experience as a mom. In each compelling scene, Mary treasures a small token to remember it by. Little does she know the divine significance each item will play in the ultimate purpose of her son’s role on earth.

Jesus said that we will know the truth, and the truth will set us free (John 8:31-32). Yet our enemy, the devil, is bent on twisting God’s truth in his all-out efforts to "steal, kill, and destroy" (John 10:10). The epistle of Jude exhorts us to contend for truth. Let’s pray through Jude, and be emboldened today to fight for the faith!

As Matthew 20:28 tells us, "the son of man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many." Families can follow Christ's example by serving others. For each day of Advent, we have found scripture and a family activity or conversation to talk about and show what it means to be the hands and feet of Jesus, so that we may all "Know Him By Name."
