See…I told you they were trouble makers.
Did you hear about what those students did? How will you handle the matter? If it were me, I’d set up a punishment they’d never forget.
Educators are faced with many daily decisions, one being making the intentional effort to boldly display kindness and goodness towards their students. Showing kindness and goodness is an essential element in instruction that can possibly lead to a life-defining regressive or progressive moment in a student’s life. An individual’s direct and indirect actions towards others create ripple effects of impact. Serving as an educator comes with great responsibility and shouldn’t be taken lightly.
Although many people have their opinions on how to handle conflict inside and outside of a learning environment, reflecting the light of Jesus is key in everything an Edunacious Educator does.
Jesus is the perfect example on how an educator’s actions of kindness and goodness can have an indirect and direct effect in one’s defining moments in life. In scripture the Scribes and Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in adultery before Jesus and made her stand where everyone could see her. The Scribes and Pharisees informed Jesus, the Great Educator of what they caught the woman doing and wanted her to receive the punishment they thought she deserved, which in the Law of Moses was to be stoned to death.
But Jesus handled the situation perfectly by schooling those who caught the woman to only throw stones at her if they were without sin. People began to walk away. Jesus not only showed kindness and goodness to the woman who was caught but also to the very ones who were ready to have the woman stoned to death by kindly giving them something to think about before attempting to start a riot.
Jesus could have called them all out but Jesus showed them all kindness and goodness and took control of the entire learning atmosphere. This is a godly principle for the Edunacious educator to display when situations get hectic and people want you to handle situations where it might be damaging or disrespectful to a student’s progression.
Educators aim to follow Jesus ‘ example of goodness and kindness no matter who wants you to handle a situation their way that doesn’t please God. Although their acts might require the necessary consequences there is always a God-honoring way to handle things.
