Stuck

DAY 5 OF 5

When we as humans experience a drastic change, it is absolutely terrifying for us!

I don’t like change.

It isn’t easy.

It isn’t fun.

It isn’t enjoyable.

But it is necessary. Without the change and transformation that God put in my life, I would not be here today! Sometimes change simply means to grow. Sometimes it’s hard to let go of what we HAVE to get what God HAS for our future!

Instead, we talk ourselves into staying where we’re at. We don’t want to get stuck, so we just stay where we are. We don’t want to risk getting stuck in the mud, so we don’t drive! We keep our car parked in the safety and security of our garage, too fearful to put it in drive.

We’ll have conversations with ourselves about it. We’ll bring up our past failures as if they are what will dictate our future!

“The last time I left my comfort zone and ventured out into the highways of life towards my destiny, I ran over some obstacles in the road and got four flat tires.”

“I know that’s the path my GPS tells me to take to best reach my desired destination, but I made the mistake of turning onto that road once before and I hit a pothole. I ended up stuck on the side of the road in a ditch for a month. I can’t take that risk again, so I’ll just stay here on the service road.”

It has been said before that the road to success is not paved. It is an often-overlooked dirt trail. It isn’t smooth. It isn’t steady, and it isn’t meant to be. The challenges that God encourages us to go through are meant to strengthen us. These challenges and therefore, these losses, teach us wisdom that instant success simply couldn’t teach us.

If you’re stuck, remember that your shovel is your Bible. Dig yourself out of the rut. If you’re feeling trapped, the word of God has the power to break out of the box that you’re in.

Lean on it during these times, and watch it pull you out, and push you into something better.
