When negative people, negative words, and negative influence constantly surround you, you need to have a strong mindset to battle those so you do not begin to display these attributes. The natural draw is toward the negative, toward the poison. But we should dwell on God’s Word and on what he has established in heaven, not on all that is wrong here on earth. If our entire mindset is on the earthly, we lack the appropriate power to be fully equipped as overcomers and more than conquerors. Focusing on the wrong thing allows the enemy an opportunity for a blindside attack.

As you begin your day, think about what you are thinking. This is not to suggest you become weird or alienated from your relationships but do not become so entangled in the things of this life that you forget about the reward that awaits you in eternity. Jesus taught us to pray “on earth as it is in heaven.” That is how we should be living. We should focus on how God intended this world to be in the beginning and live in the reality that he has called us to be fully empowered men and women, who are focused on him, watching for the miraculous to occur.

Heavenly Father, thank you for the power to focus on the solution, which is the reality you have given me. Amen.
