Elevate: A Conversation on Anxiety

DAY 5 OF 7

Imagine you’re reading a story or watching a movie, and everything that could possibly go wrong for the main character already has. They’re in trouble; you can’t imagine how they’re going to make it out of their darkest hour and turn the story around. It seems hopeless.

But people who write movies don’t write suffering for their main characters because they think we enjoy watching them suffer or struggle. They do it because it’s important to the greater story. They know that no matter what happens in the story they’re writing, the main characters will come out on top. If there’s still runtime left in the movie, there’s still hope left.

It’s the same for you. Your story isn’t over yet. Suffering can feel overwhelming but remember that God is never against you. God is for you and wants you to have a great life story that only God could write. This doesn’t mean life will be easy, exactly like you want it to be, or free from suffering. . .but it does mean that no matter what you go through, God is with you and there to help you.

Are you going through your own struggle? Today, think about God’s promise to be with you for a couple of minutes. God will walk with you through anything because God loves you and wants to show you how to live life like you were created to–to write a great story with your life–no matter what comes your way.

About this Plan

Elevate: A Conversation on Anxiety

Anxiety is one of humanity's top struggles, but what, if anything, does God do to help? In this one-week devotional, we’ll focus on finding ways to walk through the anxiety so many of us face. Most importantly, we’ll be reminded that God is always with us when we feel anxious and just how important it is to find the right people to walk through this conversation with.
