The reason why God sent His one and only son Jesus to die on the cross is that God loves you and wants to be in a relationship with you. No matter what you have said or done, He still loves you.

Before Jesus, God tried time and time again to be close to His chosen people. But they kept turning away from Him and tried to do things their own way. Yet God was desperate to be close to His people. So he made a way through Jesus.

Over to you: Can you relate to God’s chosen people at all? Maybe you can remember a time where God was trying to be close to you and you pulled away?

By believing in Jesus, all of our mistakes are forgiven and we can connect with God without any burden or guilt. Jesus is the bridge between you and God. How amazing is this! We get to be in a direct relationship with God because Jesus made a way for us. Nothing can stand in the way of us hearing God's voice or feeling His loving presence. When we become a Christian, it’s not about being religious. It's about being close to God and walking with Him every day.
