TALKING to GODSample
"Forgiveness and Effective Prayer"
Mark 11:25 KJV
"And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses."
Unforgiveness hinders our prayers. Discover the importance of forgiving others and drawing closer to God through a forgiving heart.
Praying with unforgiveness in our hearts is like pouring water into a basket-- it is always a waste of time. Unforgiveness and bitterness rob us of the assurance of answered prayers.
The only reason we can pray to God is because He forgave us and loved us even while we were sinners. And He, in turn, expects that the same love and forgiveness we have received from Him, we must show to others. Unforgiveness makes our heart far from God and we can't pray adequately if our heart is far from Him. Moreso, God considers an unforgiving man as wicked and God will not hear a wicked man. Let us forgive today and let go of all hurts so that our Father will hear us as we talk to Him.
As you conclude this day's study, may your heart be open to the power of prayer. Take a moment to talk to God, pouring out your thoughts, joys, and concerns.
