Jonah's Message To Nineveh
Describe how Jonah eventually went to Nineveh to deliver God's message, even though he was initially hesitant. The people of Nineveh responded to Jonah's message with genuine repentance, fasting, and changing their ways. The king of Nineveh also heard about Jonah's message, and he wanted to make things right.
So he made a big decree, like an important rule, that everyone in Nineveh had to change their ways and ask God for forgiveness. This was a big deal because the king was the leader of the city, and when he said something, everyone listened.
God saw that the people of Nineveh were really sorry and had changed their ways, so He didn't bring the punishment He had warned them about.
Key Verse: "God saw what they did. He saw that they stopped doing what was evil. So he took pity on them. He didn't destroy them as he had said he would." (Jonah 3:10 NIrV)

Let's Talk!
- Discuss with your child the importance of obeying God's call, even when it's challenging. Ask if there have been times when they had to do something they didn't want to do but knew it was the right thing.
- Reflect on the people of Nineveh's response to Jonah's message. Talk to your child about the power of God's Word to change people's hearts and actions.
- Encourage your child to think about a time when they realized they needed to change their behavior or attitude. Discuss the process of turning away from wrongdoing and seeking God's forgiveness.
- Ask your child how they can learn from Jonah's experience in Chapter Three.
