DAY 2 OF 5

Day 2: Healing from the Past

*In-Depth Reflection:**

Healing is an essential step in preparing for a healthy and God-centered marriage. Many of us carry wounds from past relationships, disappointments, or traumas that, if left unaddressed, can hinder us from fully embracing the future God has for us. Isaiah 61:1 speaks of Jesus’ mission to bind up the brokenhearted and to set the captives free. This mission is still active today, as Jesus desires to bring healing to every area of your life.

Psalm 147:3 offers the comforting truth that God heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. No matter how deep your pain may be, God can heal and restore you. Healing is not just about feeling better but about being made whole—emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.

2 Corinthians 5:17 reminds us that in Christ, we are new creations. The old has passed away, and the new has come. This means that your past does not define you. Through Christ, you have a fresh start and are being transformed into His likeness. As you allow God to heal your heart, you are prepared to enter into a marriage free from the baggage of the past.

Take time today to bring your hurts and wounds before God. Ask Him to heal you completely to walk into your future whole and free.

**Prayer:**

Lord, I bring my past hurts and wounds to You. I ask that You heal every part of my broken heart. Help me release the past and embrace the new creation I am in Christ. Thank You for making me whole and preparing me for the future You have for me. Amen.
