Jesus responded to Peter’s violent act by saying, “Shall I not drink the cup the Father has given me?” Jesus knew His purpose—to sacrifice Himself for the salvation of the world—and nothing would deter Him from it. He was resolute, even when it meant enduring hardship and suffering. Jesus shows us what it means to live with purpose and commitment.
