What Baptism Means
Romans 6:3-4
3 Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
Devotional Thought:
Baptism symbolizes your old life being buried and your new life rising with Christ. It tells the world that you belong to Him. It’s an outward sign of an inward change, a public declaration that Jesus is now Lord of your life. When you came up out of that water, you didn’t just get wet; you stepped into resurrection life.
Reflection Questions:
- How does knowing what baptism represents deepen your understanding of your faith?
- In what ways can you live out the commitment you made in baptism?
Prayer Prompt:
Lord, thank You for the power of baptism. Help me to live in the reality of Your death and resurrection every day.
