Faith and Works
Living Out Your Faith
When you said “yes” to Jesus and gave God all of your heart and life, it was a step of faith. It took faith to believe the good news that Jesus died for your sins and that by receiving Him as Lord, you would have eternal life. Even though you couldn’t see God, you simply believed and received His life. This is the life of faith we are called to as believers.
Faith will be a lifelong part of your journey. God wants us to take Him at His Word. To be people of faith, we first have to learn what God says. This can feel overwhelming, but it is a lifelong journey. That’s why, as a Christian, you should read the Bible daily and attend church as often as you can. It’s also important to discuss scripture with family, friends, and other believers.
Once you know what God says about an area of your life, it is important to express your faith through the appropriate actions. The Bible tells us that faith without works is dead — meaning it is ineffective. In contrast to dead works, when we live according to what we believe from God’s Word, our faith expressed through actions is living works.
As you learn what God wants you to do and apply it to your life, God will bless you and make your life work!
Prayer
“God, please teach me Your ways. I believe what You say about life. Help me to live a life of faith. I love You, Lord! Amen.”
