God, through His Word, gives a pretty clear picture of what it means to love unconditionally. This type of love isn’t just meant to be a four-letter word—it’s a way of being. It’s something that should pour out of us so naturally that it is present within every action—and in the ways we are called to fill in the gaps and be there for those around us. This truth was the heart of the civil rights movement, and this truth defined Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s vision for all to be recipients of justice and compassion.

Advent invites us to journey through the darkness to discover the light, the incarnate Word of God who "shines in the darkness" (John 1:5). This plan focuses upon the weekly themes of Advent—hope, peace, joy, and love—and serves as a guide through each week of the season. Bearing Witness to the Truth of Christ in a Pluralistic, Globalized World

God is calling us to answer the high calling to set the captives free. This was prophesied about Jesus in Isaiah, laid upon Paul on the Damascus road and confirmed in the Great Commission for us. He wants to use us to help rescue people from the darkness, to open eyes, to make disciples. When we do this, we will experience The Year of the Lord's Favor.
