In a year labeled in 2020, we thought it would be great to develop a devotional on how we Focus our eyes on Jesus. We will look at five different times the Bible talks about seeing Jesus and the situation. Join us as we step into revealing, powerful and personal encounters with the Savior.

This plan will guide you through an inductive study of Jesus’ journey to the cross, beginning with the triumphal entry into Jerusalem. Grab a notebook to jot down your thoughts as you are led through a process of (1) observing the events of Passion Week, (2) interpreting the original message to the church in Rome, and (3) applying the Easter story’s timeless truths to your life today.

This 7-day devotional plan explores Jesus’ final week leading to His crucifixion and resurrection through Mark 11–16. Each day examines pivotal events: His triumphal entry, confrontation in the temple courts, teachings on end times, sacrificial acts of love, submission in Gethsemane, suffering on the cross, and victorious resurrection. Rich insights from Mission 66 episodes highlight His humility, authority, fulfillment of prophecy, and boundless love. Reflection questions deepen understanding of Christ’s mission and our response to His sacrifice. Engage with His word daily, rediscovering His redemptive work and hope-filled promise of eternal life.

The Lent Project is an initiative of Biola University's Center for Christianity, Culture and the Arts. Each daily devotion includes a portion of Scripture, a devotional, a prayer, a work of visual art or a video, a piece of music, and a poem plus brief commentaries on the artworks and artists. The Seven Last Words of Christ refers to the seven short phrases uttered by Jesus on the cross, as gathered from the four Christian gospels. This devotional project connects word, image, voice and song into daily meditations on these words.
