Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air.

So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air.

So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing.

So I do not run like one who runs aimlessly or box like one beating the air.

I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air

Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air.

I don’t know about you, but I’m running hard for the finish line. I’m giving it everything I’ve got. No lazy living for me! I’m staying alert and in top condition. I’m not going to get caught napping, telling everyone else all about it and then missing out myself. * * *

Therefore I run in such a way as not to run aimlessly; I box in such a way, as to avoid hitting air

Therefore I do not run without a definite goal; I do not flail around like one beating the air [just shadow boxing].

So I do not run uncertainly or box like one who hits only air.
