1 John 5:14
1 John 5:13-15 The Message (MSG)
My purpose in writing is simply this: that you who believe in God’s Son will know beyond the shadow of a doubt that you have eternal life, the reality and not the illusion. And how bold and free we then become in his presence, freely asking according to his will, sure that he’s listening. And if we’re confident that he’s listening, we know that what we’ve asked for is as good as ours.
1 John 5:14 King James Version (KJV)
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us
1 John 5:14 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
1 John 5:14 New Century Version (NCV)
And this is the boldness we have in God’s presence: that if we ask God for anything that agrees with what he wants, he hears us.
1 John 5:14 American Standard Version (ASV)
And this is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us
1 John 5:14 New International Version (NIV)
This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
1 John 5:14 New King James Version (NKJV)
Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
1 John 5:14 Amplified Bible (AMP)
This is the [remarkable degree of] confidence which we [as believers are entitled to] have before Him: that if we ask anything according to His will, [that is, consistent with His plan and purpose] He hears us.
1 John 5:14 New Living Translation (NLT)
And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him.
