Hebrews 4:11
Hebrews 4:8-11 The Message (MSG)
And so this is still a live promise. It wasn’t canceled at the time of Joshua; otherwise, God wouldn’t keep renewing the appointment for “today.” The promise of “arrival” and “rest” is still there for God’s people. God himself is at rest. And at the end of the journey we’ll surely rest with God. So let’s keep at it and eventually arrive at the place of rest, not drop out through some sort of disobedience.
Hebrews 4:11 New International Version (NIV)
Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.
Hebrews 4:11 King James Version (KJV)
Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
Hebrews 4:11 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
Therefore let us be diligent to enter that rest, so that no one will fall, through following the same example of disobedience.
Hebrews 4:11 New Century Version (NCV)
Let us try as hard as we can to enter God’s rest so that no one will fail by following the example of those who refused to obey.
Hebrews 4:11 American Standard Version (ASV)
Let us therefore give diligence to enter into that rest, that no man fall after the same example of disobedience.
Hebrews 4:11 New King James Version (NKJV)
Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.
Hebrews 4:11 Amplified Bible (AMP)
Let us therefore make every effort to enter that rest [of God, to know and experience it for ourselves], so that no one will fall by following the same example of disobedience [as those who died in the wilderness].
Hebrews 4:11 New Living Translation (NLT)
So let us do our best to enter that rest. But if we disobey God, as the people of Israel did, we will fall.
