Give praise to the LORD, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts. Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice. Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always. Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced, you his servants, the descendants of Abraham, his chosen ones, the children of Jacob. He is the LORD our God; his judgments are in all the earth. He remembers his covenant forever, the promise he made, for a thousand generations, the covenant he made with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac. He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, to Israel as an everlasting covenant: “To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion you will inherit.” When they were but few in number, few indeed, and strangers in it, they wandered from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another. He allowed no one to oppress them; for their sake he rebuked kings: “Do not touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm.” He called down famine on the land and destroyed all their supplies of food; and he sent a man before them— Joseph, sold as a slave. They bruised his feet with shackles, his neck was put in irons, till what he foretold came to pass, till the word of the LORD proved him true. The king sent and released him, the ruler of peoples set him free. He made him master of his household, ruler over all he possessed, to instruct his princes as he pleased and teach his elders wisdom. Then Israel entered Egypt; Jacob resided as a foreigner in the land of Ham. The LORD made his people very fruitful; he made them too numerous for their foes, whose hearts he turned to hate his people, to conspire against his servants. He sent Moses his servant, and Aaron, whom he had chosen. They performed his signs among them, his wonders in the land of Ham. He sent darkness and made the land dark— for had they not rebelled against his words? He turned their waters into blood, causing their fish to die. Their land teemed with frogs, which went up into the bedrooms of their rulers. He spoke, and there came swarms of flies, and gnats throughout their country. He turned their rain into hail, with lightning throughout their land; he struck down their vines and fig trees and shattered the trees of their country. He spoke, and the locusts came, grasshoppers without number; they ate up every green thing in their land, ate up the produce of their soil. Then he struck down all the firstborn in their land, the firstfruits of all their manhood. He brought out Israel, laden with silver and gold, and from among their tribes no one faltered. Egypt was glad when they left, because dread of Israel had fallen on them. He spread out a cloud as a covering, and a fire to give light at night. They asked, and he brought them quail; he fed them well with the bread of heaven. He opened the rock, and water gushed out; it flowed like a river in the desert. For he remembered his holy promise given to his servant Abraham. He brought out his people with rejoicing, his chosen ones with shouts of joy; he gave them the lands of the nations, and they fell heir to what others had toiled for— that they might keep his precepts and observe his laws. Praise the LORD.

Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice! Seek the LORD and his strength; seek his presence continually! Remember the wondrous works that he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he uttered, O offspring of Abraham, his servant, children of Jacob, his chosen ones! He is the LORD our God; his judgments are in all the earth. He remembers his covenant forever, the word that he commanded, for a thousand generations, the covenant that he made with Abraham, his sworn promise to Isaac, which he confirmed to Jacob as a statute, to Israel as an everlasting covenant, saying, “To you I will give the land of Canaan as your portion for an inheritance.” When they were few in number, of little account, and sojourners in it, wandering from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another people, he allowed no one to oppress them; he rebuked kings on their account, saying, “Touch not my anointed ones, do my prophets no harm!” When he summoned a famine on the land and broke all supply of bread, he had sent a man ahead of them, Joseph, who was sold as a slave. His feet were hurt with fetters; his neck was put in a collar of iron; until what he had said came to pass, the word of the LORD tested him. The king sent and released him; the ruler of the peoples set him free; he made him lord of his house and ruler of all his possessions, to bind his princes at his pleasure and to teach his elders wisdom. Then Israel came to Egypt; Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham. And the LORD made his people very fruitful and made them stronger than their foes. He turned their hearts to hate his people, to deal craftily with his servants. He sent Moses, his servant, and Aaron, whom he had chosen. They performed his signs among them and miracles in the land of Ham. He sent darkness, and made the land dark; they did not rebel against his words. He turned their waters into blood and caused their fish to die. Their land swarmed with frogs, even in the chambers of their kings. He spoke, and there came swarms of flies, and gnats throughout their country. He gave them hail for rain, and fiery lightning bolts through their land. He struck down their vines and fig trees, and shattered the trees of their country. He spoke, and the locusts came, young locusts without number, which devoured all the vegetation in their land and ate up the fruit of their ground. He struck down all the firstborn in their land, the firstfruits of all their strength. Then he brought out Israel with silver and gold, and there was none among his tribes who stumbled. Egypt was glad when they departed, for dread of them had fallen upon it. He spread a cloud for a covering, and fire to give light by night. They asked, and he brought quail, and gave them bread from heaven in abundance. He opened the rock, and water gushed out; it flowed through the desert like a river. For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham, his servant. So he brought his people out with joy, his chosen ones with singing. And he gave them the lands of the nations, and they took possession of the fruit of the peoples’ toil, that they might keep his statutes and observe his laws. Praise the LORD!

Exult in his holy name; rejoice, you who worship the LORD. Search for the LORD and for his strength; continually seek him. Remember the wonders he has performed, his miracles, and the rulings he has given, you children of his servant Abraham, you descendants of Jacob, his chosen ones. He is the LORD our God. His justice is seen throughout the land. He always stands by his covenant— the commitment he made to a thousand generations. This is the covenant he made with Abraham and the oath he swore to Isaac. He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, and to the people of Israel as a never-ending covenant: “I will give you the land of Canaan as your special possession.” He said this when they were few in number, a tiny group of strangers in Canaan. They wandered from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another. Yet he did not let anyone oppress them. He warned kings on their behalf: “Do not touch my chosen people, and do not hurt my prophets.” He called for a famine on the land of Canaan, cutting off its food supply. Then he sent someone to Egypt ahead of them— Joseph, who was sold as a slave. They bruised his feet with fetters and placed his neck in an iron collar. Until the time came to fulfill his dreams, the LORD tested Joseph’s character. Then Pharaoh sent for him and set him free; the ruler of the nation opened his prison door. Joseph was put in charge of all the king’s household; he became ruler over all the king’s possessions. He could instruct the king’s aides as he pleased and teach the king’s advisers. Then Israel arrived in Egypt; Jacob lived as a foreigner in the land of Ham. And the LORD multiplied the people of Israel until they became too mighty for their enemies. Then he turned the Egyptians against the Israelites, and they plotted against the LORD’s servants. But the LORD sent his servant Moses, along with Aaron, whom he had chosen. They performed miraculous signs among the Egyptians, and wonders in the land of Ham. The LORD blanketed Egypt in darkness, for they had defied his commands to let his people go. He turned their water into blood, poisoning all the fish. Then frogs overran the land and even invaded the king’s bedrooms. When the LORD spoke, flies descended on the Egyptians, and gnats swarmed across Egypt. He sent them hail instead of rain, and lightning flashed over the land. He ruined their grapevines and fig trees and shattered all the trees. He spoke, and hordes of locusts came— young locusts beyond number. They ate up everything green in the land, destroying all the crops in their fields. Then he killed the oldest son in each Egyptian home, the pride and joy of each family. The LORD brought his people out of Egypt, loaded with silver and gold; and not one among the tribes of Israel even stumbled. Egypt was glad when they were gone, for they feared them greatly. The LORD spread a cloud above them as a covering and gave them a great fire to light the darkness. They asked for meat, and he sent them quail; he satisfied their hunger with manna—bread from heaven. He split open a rock, and water gushed out to form a river through the dry wasteland. For he remembered his sacred promise to his servant Abraham. So he brought his people out of Egypt with joy, his chosen ones with rejoicing. He gave his people the lands of pagan nations, and they harvested crops that others had planted. All this happened so they would follow his decrees and obey his instructions. Praise the LORD!

Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; proclaim his deeds among the peoples.  Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell about all his wondrous works!  Boast in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the  LORD  rejoice.  Seek the  LORD and his strength; seek his face always.  Remember the wondrous works he has done, his wonders, and the judgments he has pronounced,  , you offspring of Abraham his servant, Jacob’s descendants — his chosen ones.  He is the LORD our God; his judgments govern the whole earth.  He remembers his covenant forever, the promise he ordained for a thousand generations   — the covenant he made with Abraham, swore  to Isaac,  and confirmed to Jacob as a decree and to Israel as a permanent covenant:  “I will give the land of Canaan to you as your inherited portion.”  When they were few in number, very few indeed, and resident aliens in Canaan,  wandering from nation to nation and from one kingdom to another,  he allowed no one to oppress them; he rebuked kings on their behalf:  “Do not touch my anointed ones,  or harm my prophets.”  He called down famine against the land and destroyed the entire food supply.  He had sent a man ahead of them — Joseph, who was sold as a slave.  They hurt his feet with shackles; his neck was put in an iron collar.  Until the time his prediction came true, the word of the  LORD tested him.  The king sent for him and released him; the ruler of peoples set him free.  He made him master of his household, ruler over all his possessions   — binding  his officials at will and instructing his elders.  Then Israel went to Egypt; Jacob lived as an alien in the land of Ham.  , The LORD   made his people very fruitful; he made them more numerous than their foes,  whose hearts he turned to hate his people and to deal deceptively with his servants.  He sent Moses his servant, and Aaron, whom he had chosen.  They performed his miraculous signs among them and wonders in the land of Ham.  He sent darkness, and it became dark — for did they not defy his commands?  He turned their water into blood and caused their fish to die.  Their land was overrun with frogs, even in their royal chambers.  He spoke, and insects came   — gnats throughout their country.  He gave them hail for rain, and lightning throughout their land.  He struck their vines and fig trees and shattered the trees of their territory.  He spoke, and locusts came — young locusts without number. They devoured all the vegetation in their land and consumed the produce of their land.  He struck all the firstborn in their land, all their first progeny.  Then he brought Israel out with silver and gold, and no one among his tribes stumbled.  Egypt was glad when they left, for the dread of Israel  had fallen on them.  He spread a cloud as a covering and gave a fire to light up the night.  They asked, and he brought quail and satisfied them with bread from heaven.  He opened a rock, and water gushed out; it flowed like a stream in the desert.  For he remembered his holy promise to Abraham his servant.  He brought his people out with rejoicing, his chosen ones with shouts of joy.  He gave them the lands of the nations, and they inherited what other peoples had worked for.  All this happened so that they might keep his statutes and obey his instructions.  Hallelujah!

He turned their waters into blood, And slew their fish. Their land brought forth frogs in abundance, In the chambers of their kings. He spake, and there came divers sorts of flies, And lice in all their coasts. He gave them hail for rain, And flaming fire in their land. He smote their vines also and their fig trees; And brake the trees of their coasts. He spake, and the locusts came, and caterpillers, and that without number, And did eat up all the herbs in their land, and devoured the fruit of their ground. He smote also all the firstborn in their land, The chief of all their strength. He brought them forth also with silver and gold: And there was not one feeble person among their tribes. Egypt was glad when they departed: For the fear of them fell upon them. He spread a cloud for a covering; And fire to give light in the night. The people asked, and he brought quails, And satisfied them with the bread of heaven. He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; They ran in the dry places like a river. For he remembered his holy promise, And Abraham his servant. And he brought forth his people with joy, And his chosen with gladness: And gave them the lands of the heathen: And they inherited the labour of the people; That they might observe his statutes, And keep his laws. Hallelujah! Thank GOD! Pray to him by name! Tell everyone you meet what he has done! Sing him songs, belt out hymns, translate his wonders into music! Honor his holy name with Hallelujahs, you who seek GOD. Live a happy life! Keep your eyes open for GOD, watch for his works; be alert for signs of his presence. Remember the world of wonders he has made, his miracles, and the verdicts he’s rendered— O seed of Abraham, his servant, O child of Jacob, his chosen. He’s GOD, our God, in charge of the whole earth. And he remembers, remembers his Covenant— for a thousand generations he’s been as good as his word. It’s the Covenant he made with Abraham, the same oath he swore to Isaac, The very statute he established with Jacob, the eternal Covenant with Israel, Namely, “I give you the land. Canaan is your hill-country inheritance.” When they didn’t count for much, a mere handful, and strangers at that, Wandering from country to country, drifting from pillar to post, He permitted no one to abuse them. He told kings to keep their hands off: “Don’t you dare lay a hand on my anointed, don’t hurt a hair on the heads of my prophets.” Then he called down a famine on the country, he broke every last blade of wheat. But he sent a man on ahead: Joseph, sold as a slave. They put cruel chains on his ankles, an iron collar around his neck, Until God’s word came to the Pharaoh, and GOD confirmed his promise. God sent the king to release him. The Pharaoh set Joseph free; He appointed him master of his palace, put him in charge of all his business To personally instruct his princes and train his advisors in wisdom. Then Israel entered Egypt, Jacob immigrated to the Land of Ham. God gave his people lots of babies; soon their numbers alarmed their foes. He turned the Egyptians against his people; they abused and cheated God’s servants. Then he sent his servant Moses, and Aaron, whom he also chose. They worked marvels in that spiritual wasteland, miracles in the Land of Ham. He spoke, “Darkness!” and it turned dark— they couldn’t see what they were doing. He turned all their water to blood so that all their fish died; He made frogs swarm through the land, even into the king’s bedroom; He gave the word and flies swarmed, gnats filled the air. He substituted hail for rain, he stabbed their land with lightning; He wasted their vines and fig trees, smashed their groves of trees to splinters; With a word he brought in locusts, millions of locusts, armies of locusts; They consumed every blade of grass in the country and picked the ground clean of produce; He struck down every firstborn in the land, the first fruits of their virile powers. He led Israel out, their arms filled with loot, and not one among his tribes even stumbled. Egypt was glad to have them go— they were scared to death of them. God spread a cloud to keep them cool through the day and a fire to light their way through the night; They prayed and he brought quail, filled them with the bread of heaven; He opened the rock and water poured out; it flowed like a river through that desert— All because he remembered his Covenant, his promise to Abraham, his servant. Remember this! He led his people out singing for joy; his chosen people marched, singing their hearts out! He made them a gift of the country they entered, helped them seize the wealth of the nations So they could do everything he told them— could follow his instructions to the letter. Hallelujah!

Egypt was glad when they departed, For the dread of them had fallen upon the Egyptians. He spread out a cloud as a covering, And fire to illumine by night. They asked, and He brought quail, And satisfied them with the bread of heaven. He opened the rock and water flowed out; It ran in the dry places like a river. For He remembered His holy word With His servant Abraham; And He led out His people with joy, His chosen ones with a joyful shout. He also gave them the lands of the nations, So that they might take possession of the fruit of the peoples’ labor, And that they might keep His statutes And comply with His laws; Praise the LORD!

Glory in His holy name; Let the hearts of those who seek and require the LORD [as their most essential need] rejoice. Seek and deeply long for the LORD and His strength [His power, His might]; Seek and deeply long for His face and His presence continually. Remember [with awe and gratitude] the wonderful things which He has done, His amazing deeds and the judgments uttered by His mouth [on His enemies, as in Egypt], [Ps 78:43-51] O you offspring of Abraham, His servant, O you sons of Jacob, His chosen ones! He is the LORD our God; His judgments are in all the earth. ¶He has remembered His covenant forever, The word which He commanded and established to a thousand generations, The covenant which He made with Abraham, And His sworn oath to Isaac, [Luke 1:72, 73] Which He confirmed to Jacob as a statute, To Israel as an everlasting covenant, Saying, “To you I will give the land of Canaan As the measured portion of your inheritance.” When there were only a few men in number, Very few [in fact], and strangers in it; And they wandered from one nation to another, From one kingdom to another people, He allowed no man to oppress them; He rebuked kings for their sakes, saying, [Gen 12:17; 20:3-7] “Do not touch My anointed ones, And do My prophets no harm.” [1 Chr 16:8-22] ¶And He called for a famine upon the land [of Egypt]; He cut off every source of bread. The king sent and released him, The ruler of the peoples [of Egypt], and set him free. He made Joseph lord of his house And ruler of all his possessions, [Gen 41:40] To imprison his princes at his will, That he might teach his elders wisdom. Israel also came into Egypt; Thus Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham. [Gen 46:6] There the LORD greatly increased [the number of] His people, And made them more powerful than their enemies. ¶He turned the heart [of the Egyptians] to hate His people, To deal craftily with His servants. He sent Moses His servant, And Aaron, whom He had chosen. They exhibited His wondrous signs among them, Great miracles in the land of Ham (Egypt). He sent [thick, oppressive] darkness and made the land dark; And Moses and Aaron did not rebel against His words. [Ex 10:22; Ps 99:7] He turned Egypt’s waters into blood And caused their fish to die. [Ex 7:20, 21] Their land swarmed with frogs, Even in the chambers of their kings. [Ex 8:6] He spoke, and there came swarms of flies And gnats in all their territory. [Ex 8:17, 24] He gave them hail for rain, With flaming fire in their land. [Ex 9:23, 25] He struck their vines also and their fig trees, And shattered the [ice-laden] trees of their territory. [Ps 78:47] He spoke, and the [migratory] locusts came, And the young locusts, even without number, [Ex 10:4, 13, 14] And ate up all the vegetation in their land, And devoured the fruit of their ground. He also struck down all the firstborn in their land, The first fruits and chief substance of all their strength. [Ex 12:29; Ps 78:51] ¶He brought the sons of Israel out [of Egypt] with silver and gold, And among their tribes there was not one who stumbled. [Ex 12:35] Egypt was glad when they departed, For the dread and fear of them had fallen on the Egyptians. [Ex 12:33] The LORD spread a cloud as a covering [by day], And a fire to illumine the night. [Ex 13:21] The Israelites asked, and He brought quail, And satisfied them with the bread of heaven. [Ex 16:12-15] He opened the rock and water flowed out; It ran in the dry places like a river. [Ex 17:6; Num 20:11] For He remembered His holy word To Abraham His servant; [Gen 15:14] He brought out His people with joy, And His chosen ones with a joyful shout, He gave them the lands of the nations [of Canaan], So that they would possess the fruits of those peoples’ labor, [Deut 6:10, 11] So that they might observe His precepts And keep His laws [obediently accepting and honoring and valuing them]. Praise the LORD! (Hallelujah!)

Give thanks to the LORD! Call on his name! Make known his accomplishments among the nations! Sing to him! Make music to him! Tell about all his miraculous deeds! Boast about his holy name! Let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice! Seek the LORD and the strength he gives! Seek his presence continually! Recall the miraculous deeds he performed, his mighty acts and the judgments he decreed, O children of Abraham, God’s servant, you descendants of Jacob, God’s chosen ones! He is the LORD our God; he carries out judgment throughout the earth. He always remembers his covenantal decree, the promise he made to a thousand generations – the promise he made to Abraham, the promise he made by oath to Isaac! He gave it to Jacob as a decree, to Israel as a lasting promise, saying, “To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion of your inheritance.” When they were few in number, just a very few, and resident aliens within it, they wandered from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another. He let no one oppress them; he disciplined kings for their sake, saying,“Don’t touch my chosen ones! Don’t harm my prophets!” He called down a famine upon the earth; he cut off all the food supply. He sent a man ahead of them – Joseph was sold as a servant. The shackles hurt his feet; his neck was placed in an iron collar, until the time when his prediction came true. The LORD’s word proved him right. The king authorized his release; the ruler of nations set him free. He put him in charge of his palace, and made him manager of all his property, giving him authority to imprison his officials and to teach his advisers. Israel moved to Egypt; Jacob lived for a time in the land of Ham. The LORD made his people very fruitful, and made them more numerous than their enemies. He caused them to hate his people, and to mistreat his servants. He sent his servant Moses, and Aaron, whom he had chosen. They executed his miraculous signs among them, and his amazing deeds in the land of Ham. He made it dark; they did not disobey his orders. He turned their water into blood, and killed their fish. Their land was overrun by frogs, which even got into the rooms of their kings. He ordered flies to come; gnats invaded their whole territory. He sent hail along with the rain; there was lightning in their land. He destroyed their vines and fig trees, and broke the trees throughout their territory. He ordered locusts to come, innumerable grasshoppers. They ate all the vegetation in their land, and devoured the crops of their fields. He struck down all the firstborn in their land, the firstfruits of their reproductive power. He brought his people out enriched with silver and gold; none of his tribes stumbled. Egypt was happy when they left, for they were afraid of them. He spread out a cloud for a cover, and provided a fire to light up the night. They asked for food, and he sent quails; he satisfied them with food from the sky. He opened up a rock and water flowed out; a river ran through dry regions. Yes, he remembered the sacred promise he made to Abraham his servant. When he led his people out, they rejoiced; his chosen ones shouted with joy. He handed the territory of nations over to them, and they took possession of what other peoples had produced, so that they might keep his commands and obey his laws. Praise the LORD!
