It's easy to allocate one day a year to acknowledge what we're thankful for, but what if we taught our children how to have hearts of gratitude in acknowledgement for all of God's continued faithfulness? This 4-day Thanksgiving devotional teaches parents how to model gratitude for their children, even when life gets hard.

As Christians, we are called to live a life of service to our Saviour king, but what does that practically look like in a world where service can take so many different forms? This plan looks at just that – what does Christian service mean, and why are we called to a life of service?

Discipleship works against fear. As we obey God’s commands, we entrust ourselves to him. Like the students attending the schools founded by D. L. Moody in Northfield, MA, God’s people “are encouraged to test the meaning and value of the Bible’s teachings experimentally, by acting upon them, and living them out.” As we “test experimentally” the word of God, we will find that we will have fewer and fewer reasons to be afraid. Jesus came not to be served, but to serve. That’s the mandate for this week. Can we serve others the way Jesus served us, with zeal, a spiritual fervor and with devoted faithfulness? It’s worth seeing how we can be serving God and serving others like Jesus role-modeled for us over 2,000 years ago.
