Micah 4:8

The angel gave the shepherds a sign leading them to a special field prophesied in Micah. This sign is often overlooked in our studies and even mistranslated in some Bibles. Come discover how the shepherds found Jesus, and what this means about the gritty details in our own lives. God does not miss a thing. He is in the details which point to our destiny.

Micah’s prophetic ministry called attention to the oppression of the poor, the injustice of leaders, and the unfaithful messages of false prophets. The solution to Judah’s sinfulness is simple: “do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with God” (Micah 6:8). Despite their sinfulness, Micah prophesies a time of peace when God will gather a remnant of His people to be ruled by a Shepherd-King born in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2-5).

Christmas is the perfect time to look back and reflect on all that God did for us in sending Christ to our rescue. As you read this devotional, I pray that you will remember your own rescue and walk into the New Year with the confidence that He will rescue you again from everything that you will need to walk through on the road that lies ahead.
