The Israelites are stubborn, like a stubborn heifer. How then can the LORD pasture them like lambs in a meadow?

Like a stubborn heifer, Israel is stubborn; can the LORD now feed them like a lamb in a broad pasture?

Israel is stubborn, like a stubborn heifer. So should the LORD feed her like a lamb in a lush pasture?

For Israel is as obstinate as a stubborn cow.  Can the LORD now shepherd them like a lamb in an open meadow?

For Israel slideth back as a backsliding heifer: now the LORD will feed them as a lamb in a large place.

“For Israel is stubborn Like a stubborn calf; Now the LORD will let them forage Like a lamb in open country.

“You’ve ruined your own life, Israel— but don’t drag Judah down with you! Don’t go to the sex shrine at Gilgal, don’t go to that sin city Bethel, Don’t go around saying ‘GOD bless you’ and not mean it, taking God’s name in vain. Israel is stubborn as a mule. How can GOD lead him like a lamb to open pasture? Ephraim is addicted to idols. Let him go. When the beer runs out, it’s sex, sex, and more sex. Bold and sordid debauchery— how they love it! The whirlwind has them in its clutches. Their sex-worship leaves them finally impotent.”

Since Israel is stubborn Like a stubborn cow, Will the LORD now pasture them Like a lamb in a large field?

For Israel is stubborn, Like a stubborn heifer. Can the LORD now pasture them Like a lamb in a large field?

Israel has rebelled like a stubborn heifer! Soon the LORD will put them out to pasture like a lamb in a broad field!
