Enter In - To The Life God Promised YouExemplo
CROSSING YOUR JORDAN RIVER
Everyone has a Jordan River.
Think of something you have always considered doing, but for whatever reason you've never put that thought into action - bungy-jumping, perhaps? Or consider a place you have been to but never gone past. Where is the furthest south you have travelled, for example?
In order to go somewhere new, we need to get ready. God instructs Joshua and the Israelites to get ready to cross the Jordan River. In crossing this body of water they will begin to ENTER IN to God's promises, but they will also be going somewhere they have, until now, been restricted from. So they need to get ready. In order to ENTER IN to the life God has for you, there is preparation required!
The Israelites had long believed God had a Promised Land for them, but they had never ventured across the Jordan River. This now represented a boundary, a limit, a cap on their potential. A people who had been defined by a promise had become wilderness-wanderers! As we trust God and believe that we are going to step into our own Promised Land, we need to identify our boundaries and prepare to cross them. This will require a monumental shift in our identity and our perspective. How we see ourselves needs to be aligned with how God sees us: possessors of His promises! Let's get ready to cross the Jordan River!
QUESTIONS TO CONSIDER:
What is your Jordan River, the boundary you have reached before but never passed?
What has your limit been previously?
Where is God calling you to now?
PRAY:
God, help me get ready to cross my Jordan River. I want to see myself the way you see me - as a person defined by Your promises. I am ready to break through the boundaries that had previously held me back.
