Let Us Call Upon His Name

In the whole land, declares the Lord, two thirds shall be cut off and perish, and one third shall be left alive.And I will put this third into the fire, and refine them as one refines silver, and test them as gold is tested.They will call upon my name, and I will answer them.I will say, ‘They are my people’; and they will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’”

News around us talks about death, and more so in the past two years because of the pandemic. Even those that do not suffer illnesses caused by the virus, the emotional stress of uncertainties, isolation, and financial distress can rush over us like waves of a tsunami making one feel overwhelmed and helpless. In dark times like this, we are blessed that we have the true light. As we call upon His name: Jesus - our God, our Savior, our Living Hope, we have the assurance that He will answer and cover us under His wings. Let us call upon His name and respond to His call to rise up as His people in this generation.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, You are the God who loves us to the point of dying on the cross for our sins and being resurrected three days later so that we can be reconciled with God. We now call upon Your name – the battle is Yours and our eyes are on You. Enable us to also rise up above the waves to be a blessing to the people around us proclaiming Your good news. Thank You Lord, it is in Your name we pray. Amen.
