DAY 2 OF 9

FOUNDATION

12 Therefore, since we have such hope, we use great boldness of speech— 13 unlike Moses, who put a veil over his face so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the end of what was passing away. 14 But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament because the veil is taken away in Christ. 15 But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart. 16 Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. - 2 Corinthians 3:12-17

If we believe, as the word of God says, that the world is gradually fading, people are perishing and people are blind without the Lord, action must be taken. As revealed in the scripture cited above, there is a veil covering many people’s hearts that stops them from receiving the knowledge of God’s saving grace by faith in Jesus Christ. A legacy minded man builds a Christ-centered legacy and then takes intentional steps to pass it on to the next generation – whether it’s to a mentee, daughter, son, or friend. This means that those around him know the foundation upon which he stands, and that foundation is Jesus Christ.

Sometimes that foundation is shared with our words, other times it is shared by our actions. Either way, we must be intentional about revealing Him that is within us, with the hope that our hope would become their hope. It is profoundly true that the world is suffering today, if that weren’t true there would be no need for hope. Billions around the world are hoping for “something” today. What if I told you that you carried the greatest source of hope, that you had "The Living Hope" that all people truly are seeking.

As Paul shows us in the scriptures, people can attain all types of things, most often worldly things. When one is full of such things, the built-in desire for the hope within each person usually ‘hopes’ for worldly things. Any assumption that these temporary worldly things may be able to satisfy an eternal soul are futile by nature. The hope that believers in Jesus Christ have been an eternal hope that satisfies daily.

Whether prior to reading this today you shared in the joy of this hope with a mentee, son/daughter, or friend, I pray that you were encouraged by these words. Furthermore, I pray that the seed of encouragement would fall onto good soil and grow into a desire to share this hope, which is eternal life through Jesus Christ with others. Millions and billions around the world have a veil over their heart, if you are one who has had that veil ripped off, don’t count it as accruing to your account, for your glory. Thank God for His magnificence and do all you can do to bring glory to Him in how you live, which means sharing His hope with others. This is how they will taste the liberty that accompanies the presence of His Holy Spirit. May God bless you. Amen
