Women of Valor: The Spiritual Battle

DAY 10 OF 11

Day 10: ALL Kinds of Prayers

Prayer is essential in the spiritual battle.

We might pray for strength, courage, wisdom, or support. We can pray for others who are fighting the spiritual battle, too.

The Holy Spirit can guide you in prayer if you are unsure of where to start. Paul instructs believers to "pray in the Spirit on all occasions," meaning that they should pray in a way that is empowered and guided by the Holy Spirit. He also encourages us to pray with "all kinds of prayers and requests," indicating that there is no limit or restriction on the type of prayers we can offer to God.

Pray Always and for All God's People

Paul emphasizes the ongoing nature of our prayer life by reminding us to "always keep on praying." He also encourages us to pray "for all the Lord’s people"—ourselves, yes, but also to intercede on behalf of our fellow believers.

How do you need to pray today?

What battles are you facing? What about your loved ones? Your community? Our world? What battles can you fight on your knees?

Consider this painting.

Chenel Joseph created this painting, Forgiveness. He writes:

Life is a challenge and a battle [and] we are always going to find difficult times, but God is always here.

As you consider this painting, where would you place yourself in the scene?

Which of these people are you?

How close does Christ feel to you?

Notice all the different perspectives the artist includes in the painting. Have you experienced prayer changing your point of view about an issue?
