Incinerate InsecuritySample
Confident and Compassionate
When we establish our identity and security in Jesus instead of in ourselves, we feel confident of our eternal home, our connection with God in prayer, and our authority in Christ. Because we know who we are in Christ, we understand Jesus’ love for others and can boldly demonstrate love and compassion for them.
Today’s passage is a high calling for believers, and there are others like it in the New Testament. Ephesians 4:32 tells us to "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you." Romans 12:10 says, "Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another."
Friends, we can only forgive, honor, and love each other this way when God is working in our hearts. Today, take some time to ask God for His help in grounding your life in Him and growing your love for others. How can God's great compassion for you lead you to greater compassion for the world?
As you engage with God’s Word:
● What is God saying to you?
● What does it mean to you?
● What action step do you need to take?
After you reflect on these questions, bring everything to God in prayer.
