Lent Youth Guide | Jesus' Real Talk During His Hardest & Darkest Moments

DAY 15 OF 39

Think:

Judas might have been feeling frustrated. He probably thought Jesus would be a political hero, like someone who would kick out the Romans and bring back the good ole' days for Israel. But Jesus’ mission was way different—more about healing hearts and changing lives than fighting on the battlefield. When things didn’t line up with his expectations, Judas may have felt let down. Have you ever felt that way? Like God isn’t doing things your way? Life doesn’t always go how we expect, and we can end up disappointed when our plans don’t match His. The reality is, we don’t control everything. But that’s where the real growth happens—when we let go and let God do His thing. He sees a bigger picture than we ever could.

Live:

So, where are you still holding onto your plans or ideas about how things should go? Are you stuck in a place where you think you know best? Today, ask yourself: how can I trust God with this situation? What would it look like to surrender control and believe He’s got something bigger planned than what I can see right now? Sometimes, it’s about waiting and knowing that in the end, it will all make sense. Keep walking, even when it feels like you're headed somewhere you'd rather not be. The best is yet to come.

Pray:
Jesus, I ask for the grace to let go of my own expectations and trust in Your plan. Help me recognize when I’m holding on too tightly to my own ideas. Amen.
