Legacy: Living Stones, Lasting ImpactSample

DAY 4: Jesus Is Lord—And That Changes Everything
“Jesus is Lord.” It’s one of the earliest confessions of the church—and it means more than a song lyric or a Sunday statement.
In the original Greek, Lord is kurios, meaning Master or Owner. When we say “Jesus is Lord,” we’re declaring that He has full rights to our lives. We’re not our own. We’ve been purchased—redeemed at the highest cost: the blood of Christ.
Paul often described himself as a doulos—a slave of Christ. Not in oppression, but in love. A doulos has no personal agenda, no personal plan. Their only aim is to serve the joy and will of their master.
That’s what it means to live on mission.
It’s not about occasional acts of charity or seasonal generosity. It’s a life fully surrendered. Your time, your talents, your treasure—they’re not yours. They’re entrusted to you for the purpose of building the Kingdom.
This is why, in building a legacy, we don’t just give money. We give ourselves. First to the Lord, and then to His mission. That’s how true generosity flows—from a heart fully surrendered to its Master.
Reflection Questions:
- What does “Jesus is Lord” mean to you in your everyday decisions?
- How can your time, talent, and treasure reflect His ownership today?
