Our strong hiding place

Read Psalm 91:2–4

Strength is not commonly associated with bird feathers. We often associate it with gentleness and softness. Surprisingly, feathers are strong and flexible as they are primarily made of a tough protein called beta-keratin. This flexibility allows the feathers to adjust to the environment, providing protection from the elements.

When God says He will cover us in His feathers and we will find refuge under His wings, He’s reminding us that His strength is beyond our comprehension. When we face trials and challenges, we sometimes believe the situation is bigger than God and beyond His might. But as we underestimate the strength in feathers, we also can underestimate the strength of our God.

God is unmatched and is above every dominion, power, ruler and authority. When God tells us that He will cover us and we will find shelter under His wings, He’s telling us that He can, and will, be with us in every situation. That in Him we find comfort, peace and strength. Through His Holy Spirit, we find guidance and wisdom for every situation.

God loved you so much that He sent Jesus to die for our sins so we all can find salvation through Jesus and be in communion with God through His Holy Spirit. This love is our refuge and strength. It saves, protects and guides us. The One who raised Jesus is with you in every situation. He loves you and wants to cover you in His love.
